Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0931584A1] The apparatus to disperse a high consistency fiber material, mechanically, has a deflection (9) in the outflow (8). It has a contour (10) which is shaped to deflect fibers with a radial orientation into an axial alignment. The mechanical tool unit (2), which moves in relation to the housing (6), has at least one radial projection (7) at its outer circumference which extends beyond the radially outermost edge. The apparatus has at least two tool units (1,2) which act on the fiber material, and move in relation to each other. One tool unit (1) is part of a fixed stator (6) and the complementary tool unit (2) is part of a powered rotor (5), with a horizontal rotary axis. At least one radial projection (7) is part of the moving tool unit (2), with a radial extension (b) of 3-50 mm or 3-20 mm over the circumference of the rotor (5). In the peripheral direction, the projection (7) has a surface on one side at an angle to the radius of 10-45 degrees , and the peripheral extension of the projection (7) has an angle of 3-15 degrees or 360 degrees . The moving tool unit (2) has a single radial projection (7), which does not extend axially into the working zone of the complementary tool unit. The contour (10) of the deflection (9) has a peripheral angle of 180-300 degrees , and extends over the tool zone, or it is the inner surface of a toroidal section, where its center coincides with working tools. The tool structure is composed of a number of assembled ring arc segments.
