[origin: EP0931648A1] The flexible relief printing form (17) is mounted on a form-cylinder (12), which is in contact with a printing cylinder of a printing machine and consists of at least three layers. The first layer, on the surface of the cylinder, is a dimensionally stable and flexible backing material (18) on which a second compressible layer (19) is tightly bonded, having good damping characteristics. A third, relief-forming layer (20), with printing surfaces (21), is tightly bonded to the second layer. Preferably, the first layer is at least partly metallic, e.g. of aluminium; the second layer is of an elastomer or a soft rubber; the third layer is subject to photopolymerisation. The form cylinder has clamping rails for attachment of the flexible form.
