Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19757472A1] The calendar assembly to process a web, especially of paper, has a stack of rollers with their axes on a horizontal plane. The end rollers (7,14) are rollers with bending adjustment. The center rollers (8-13) are mounted on levers (21) which are linked to pressure transfer units (23) to apply pressure forces to the rollers. A unit (20) applies a pressure force on one end roller (14), towards the other end roller (7), to give a constant draw loading in the roller gaps between them. The pressure units (23) at the roller levers are double-sided. Each roller (7-14) has its own drive, to prevent them from bending out to the side. The frame (1), which carries the calendar rollers (7-14), moves the rollers from the working position into a rest position where the roller axes are on a vertical plane over each other, with a horizontal swing axis (25) for the frame (1) to pivot by 90 deg . At least one web winding station (3,5) is held at the frame (1) by a common support (2). Alternatively, at least one fixed web winding station has a web roll on a horizontal axis, with at least one guide roller on a horizontal axis between it and the calendar rollers, which is contact with the web only when the frame (1) is moved from the rest position into the working setting.
