[origin: WO9816707A1] The invention relates to a locking device (1, 1') having a lock house (2, 2'), carrier means mounted in the lock house and comprising two carriers (3, 4; 3', 4'), which via teeth mesh with each other and perform translational movements, as well as lock rods (5, 6; 5', 6'), which protrude from the lock house in mutually opposite direction and are connected to said carrier means. According to the invention the lock house (2; 2') is provided with guide and stop or restriction elements (11-16; 11'-16') for the carrier means as well as the lock rods, designed to facilitate the assembly and the use of the locking device. Also, the ends of the lock rods (5, 6; 5', 6'), positioned in the lock house (2; 2') are designed as elements of the carrier means having open lateral guide grooves (35, 36; 35', 36'), designed to receive guide pins (33, 34; 33', 34') which extend outwards and laterally from pivoting arms (29, 30; 29', 30'), towards the carriers, which pivoting arms are designed to be pivoted in a plane on the one side of the lock rods and past them.
