Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0933202A2] The placer drive coordinates the drive motion between a sheet printing press and a sheet placer. It includes a driving shaft, a driven shaft and coupling devices. There are two halves (4,8) of a coupling and a brake (14,15) on the driven shaft. The first coupling half (4) can turn freely but is fixed axially. The second (8) can move axially but cannot rotate. The brake is in the form of pneumatic cylinders. One coupling half may have recesses (4a) for coupling balls (8a) in the other half.
