[origin: EP0933209A2] A cable or chain pulley (5,6) provided for the adjustment movement is connected by a guide pulley (7,8) to at least one counter weight (9,10) which is tared with regard to its mass for a practically force-free adjustment of the printer guard (1). A cable pulley, guide pulley and counter weight can be mounted both on the drive side and on the operator side of the printer. The printer guard can be locked in a position for changing the printing plate and in a maintenance position.
