[origin: EP0933297A1] An object (2) to be packaged is wrapped by pref. two foils (3,4) supplied by pref. two rolls. The foils are welded and cut off the roll, forming a foil envelope (5) with one or more weld seams (7), which is open on one side. The foil envelope is shrunk by heat application, and any corners and/or edges are charged with a warm air flow from outside. At the same time, a warm air flow is directed into the envelope to erect the corners. Edges and corners of a projecting foil end are esp. stretched.
