Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0934781A2] The cylinder liner is of a hypereutectic aluminium-silicon-alloy. Initially, a tubular alloy body (4) is cast, and is subsequently formed in a non-cutting pressure rolling process at temperatures of between 380 and 515 degrees C. During forming, final internal and external diameters of the liner are created, as well as a surface structure, which makes it easier to clamp the liner in the material cast around it. The tubular alloy body may be cut into sections, with each section forming a cylinder liner.
