A metal strip feeder comprising advancement members for the strip, characterised by comprising a flap (54) hinged about a pin transverse to the feeder, said flap being substantially movable between two end position, in one of which it lies substantially horizontal to rest on the advancing strip, whereas in the other of which it is inclined following the arching of the strip, to activate a control for interrupting the advancement of the strip. <IMAGE>
