[origin: EP0934818A2] A web- or sheet-like material consists of ≥ 2 layers and has an embossed pattern which comprises a number of separate embossed points. The embossed areas are, at least in part, flat areas (24,25,26,27) which each overlap, at least in part, with ≥ 1 additional flat area. The shape and/or the size is selected in such a way that a tearing of the layers in the peripheral sections of the flat areas is avoided.
