[origin: EP0935024A2] The method for controlling the steering drive of a two roller ground compressing system (1), with double steering, separately controls the roller drums (2,3) by a control system, depending on the specified steering, selected by the drive. The control system with a pre adjusted track displacement is carried out in a program ''dog walk'', based on a selected bend travel, carried by prescribed steering. The steering of both roller drums (2,3) with the reaching of their lock limit is designed in such a manner, that only the free drum not lying at the steering limit, is at least so controlled, until the corresponding bend travel of the road roller (1) is carried out by the free drum, so that the locked drum has moved away from the steering stop.
