[origin: EP0935117A2] An improved method for re-sleeving firearms, especially tank gun barrels, has the sleeve cooled to less than minus 50 degrees C and aligned inside a heated muzzle. After alignment the center section of the muzzle is cooled, followed by the outer ends to shrink the muzzle onto the sleeve. The whole process is performed vertically and with the sleeve cooled by dry ice. Prior to insertion into the muzzle the outside of the sleeve is held inside a thermal cladding to prevent condensation.
