[origin: EP0936321A2] An insulating material element (1), especially for the thermal insulation of building facades and for use in laminar thermal insulation systems, consists of a plate-shaped element made of concrete containing pores. The concrete density is 75-250 kg/m<3> and it has a thermal conductivity of 0.003-0.005 W/mK. Its surface has a strength-enhancing coating.
