Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0936347A1] The engine oil is heated by passing it through a constricted orifice in the oil sump (6) and between baffle plates (8A,8B). These are contained within a chamber (2) which in turn is located within the oil sump (1). The oil pump (3) draws its supply from the chamber which retains a pool of warm oil after the engine is stopped.
