Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9819952A1] The invention relates to a method and device for winding a thread (2) running at a constant speed onto a bobbin (4) by means of a winding spindle (3) driven by a motor (18). The thread is fed to a cross-winding device (8) which moves the thread backwards and forth along the surface of the bobbin transversely to its running direction. Before the thread runs into the cross-winding device, it is guided with a sag by the roller (10) of a dancing arm (9) which is located between two fixed thread guides (14, 15). The speed of the winding spindle is adjusted according to the position of the dancing arm in such a way that there is a uniform sag in the thread between the fixed thread guides (14, 15). According to the invention the thread is partially twisted around the dancing arm roller (10) several times so that the amplitude of the movement of the roller can be reduced in proportion to the number of twists around it.
