[origin: EP0937484A2] The shock absorber has a flexible outer case (1) with a fixed air-permeability and contains at least one air-filled foam body (4a,b,c). The interior of the outer case has several compartments (2a,b,c), at least one of which (2b) has a convexly circular cross-section, when no pressure is applied. The air-filled foam body separates adjacent compartments. The convex compartment is cylindrical with outward-curved semi-spherical caps on both ends. A pressure-distribution plate (6) is positioned in part of the outer case and covers at least one of the convex compartments. A seat-shell (16) is on the side of the outer case facing the body.
