[origin: EP0937507A2] The bar (1) is located on one side of a sieve plate with sieve mats (2) and a machine side wall on the other side. The bar is clamped positively between the outer end face (14) of a sieve mat and the side wall. The mat end face and bar are positively connected especially via a tongue and groove, e.g. a horizontal groove (4) in the bar and a tongue (5) on the sieve mat side. A projecting deflector (7) is located on the side bar, which projects over the top of the sieve mat edge. The side bar comprises an elastomer material.
