[origin: EP0937510A1] The invention relates to a device for washing trash and garbage containers (8) comprising a tank (4), a washing station (2) set to receive in engagement a trash and garbage container (8), a mixing station (19) interposed between the washing station (2) and a settling station (18), a filter press (54) operatively positioned between the settling station (18) and the tank (4) and a station (51) for the elimination of bacteria engaged upstream of the tank (4). The settling station (18) comprises a hermetically sealed container (35) which is kept constantly filled with water. In the settling station (18) the water is separated from the waste substances which are collected in a tank (43), possibly to be treated in the filter press (54). The water exiting both the settling station (18) and the filter press (54) is made to pass through the station (51) for the elimination of bacteria (51) and subsequently circulated for a new washing. <IMAGE>
