[origin: EP0937671A1] The conveyor onto which a pile (P) of leaves is to be straightened has its rollers (4) mounted on rotational spindles parallel to the ground and extending transversely to the transport direction of the pile. The process of straightening consists of putting the pile in contact with an immobilizing stop surface (32) and rotating the spindles in a translation movement in the direction of transport of the pile, leaving the rollers to rotate freely around their rotational axes.
