[origin: EP0937851A1] The door or window (2) is pivoted by means of an articulation on a frame (3). The intermediate safety device comprises a bed plate (10) fixed in a rabbet (6A) in the door frame. It serves as a strike plate with a coupling finger (14) for a movable part comprising a fixing plate (13) able to be fixed in the rabbet (6B) of the door. The coupling finger is in the shape of a strip (14) curved along a radius of curvature about an axis (16) parallel to and set back from the door pivoting axis. In this way, during closure of the door through its engagement with the strike plate ensures compression of the door against the frame.
