[origin: EP0937860A1] The head (3) has one or more hard metal inserts which are provided with three star-shaped cutting areas extending from a central part radially to the periphery of the drill head. Between the cutting areas are head grooves (10,12) which are connected to the discharge grooves (6,7). For unhindered transport of drilled-out material, two head grooves (10,12) are connected with a discharge groove (6). The third head groove is connected with the further discharge groove (7).
