[origin: EP0938952A2] The device has a head piece (1) and a pivoted clamp arm (2), and elements for position scanning of the arm. The elements consist of at least one coil (7), which may be current connected. The size of the coil corresponds mainly to the regulating distance (SW) of the position indicator (5) located on the setting mechanism (3). In all positions of the mechanism, the position indicator is located in the gradient-orientated action area of the magnetic field generated by the coil. The coil is connected to its current source via an electronic transfer device, which detects magnetic field interference generated by the position indicator.
