[origin: EP0940488A1] The godet roller (2) assembly, for synthetic filaments, is mounted to a linked arm (6) together with the deflection tine, mounted (7) to the machine frame. The godet (2) axis (8) is supported by bearings (9a,b), with a drive roller (12) at the free end in contact with a motor drive shaft in the working position, which extends along the machine length as a common drive for all the workstations. A mechanism acts on the swing arms (6) to hold the drive roller (12) with a given pressure against the drive shaft during normal working, and detach the roller from the shaft when not in use. The drive roller (12) has a cladding (13), preferably of rubber. A spring (17) gives the required pressure against the drive shaft. One end of the spring is at a pedestal (7) supporting the godet (2) and the other end is at the machine frame. The swing axis for the support arms (6) is positioned so that, in the working position, the spring tension holds the drive roller against the drive shaft and, when not in use, holds the roller clear of the drive shaft. The godet (2) is electrically heated, pref. by induction.
