[origin: EP0940646A2] The firearm shaft has a main shaft part and at least one additional shaft component, such as a shaft jaw or a shaft cap, which is fixed to the main part by a support (10) and is pivotable around an axis running perpendicularly or parallel to firing direction. The pivot axis runs outside the shaft main body. At least one additional shaft component is linearly movable in relation to the main shaft part in a displacement direction running transverse to the pivot axis. This additional component can be releasably fixed in each pivot or displacement position in relation to the shaft main part. The support has at least one connecting component (30,40), which is preferably columnar or strip-shaped. The connecting component is coupled to the additional shaft component on one side by a link permitting a pivot movement around the pivot axis and is fixable to the shaft main part on the other side.
