[origin: EP0940791A2] The appts. monitors an additional secured area (1a) with an appts having a sensor (2a, 3a, 4a) and a speech memory (9a) and cross linked via a data bus to the first secured area (1). The event sensed by the sensor of one appts. is passed on by releasing an acoustic report from the speech memory (9,a) of the other appts. via the loudspeaker (7, 7a). The speech memory contains several different pre-recorded messages suitable for different events picked up by the sensors. Each sensor and each speech memory is a unit that connects to the household wiring and each has a bus coupler with a microprocessor to connect to the bus wiring (15,16,15a,16a). The monitoring appts. has sensors (2, 3, 4) to monitor one monitoring area (B) and pick-up an event in the area. The sensor information is transmitted via a data bus connected to the speech memory. The speech memory provides a prerecorded acoustic report via a loudspeaker in the secured area (1).
