Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0940835A2] The fuse has a fuse element (7) connected to at least two contacts (5). If a predetermined temperature is exceeded, the electrical contact between the fuse element and contacts is broken. The connection may comprise a contact resistance which warms the connection depending on the amount of current flowing in the fuse.
