Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19810422C1] The method involves placing the tube (1) to be formed in a die (3) with recesses to form the bulges. One end (19) of the tube is closed and the section supported by the die is reinforced by an inner tube (20). Hydraulic pressure is then applied to the interior of the tube adjacent to the die recesses to deform it outwardly into them. The tube is then moved axially to allow formation of the next bulge.
