[origin: EP0941930A1] The press device (20) is equipped additionally for pressing the compressed stack. A conveyor belt (10) with a flat section conveys the stack to be banded to the appropriate position and then conveys the banded stack away. The bending device is a deflector roller (13) movable vertically to the conveyor belt. It bends the conveyor belt section into a bent shape. The press device comprises two press arms (21) limitedly pivotable against one another, which through a setback device (22) are held in an angled position against one another. The pivotability of the press arms is so limited that the angle between then amounts at most to 180 degrees.
