An assembly (1) for collecting rubbish, waste and the like comprises: a frame construction (2) arrangeable at a desired waste disposal location, receiving means (44) for receiving rubbish, which receiver is mounted within the frame construction in such a way as to be displaceable in the frame construction between a number of releasable, lockable positions (64), the positioning of the receiving means within the frame construction being dependent on pressure exertable on the receiving means. <IMAGE>
