[origin: EP0942132A1] A spring-loaded bolt button (3) extends through the cuff rail (1) part of the multipoint lock at right angles and is kept protruding above the surface of the cuff rail slightly by the spring force action. The bolt button also extends into a slot (4) inside a plunger part (2) of the lock and is connected to a locking bolt (8) via a bridge part (5) extending parallel to the plunger. Movement between the bolt button and locking bolt is synchronized, the locking bolt being urged into an opening (9) in the plunger to fix it into position. Closing the door forces the locking bolt out of the plunger opening, allowing movement of the plunger once more.
