[origin: EP0942428A2] A shock absorbing holder (SAH) for holding a device (3) vulnerable to an effect by shock so as to wrap it up and protect it against shock includes a frame body (S, Tp, Bp) structured smaller than an outer shape of the device (3) for predetermined dimensions ( DELTA T1, DELTA L1, DELTA L2), a holding portion (CS) having a shape similar to the outer shape of the device (3) defined by inner wall surfaces of the frame body (S, Tp, Bp), and protruding portions (P) provided on outer surface walls of the frame body (S, Tp, Bp). With the frame body (S, Tp, Bp) extended, the device (3) is accommodated in the holding portion (CS), being intimately contacted to the inner wall surfaces of the frame body (S, Tp, Bp). When shock is given from outside, the protruding portions (P) are deformed to absorb the shock, protecting the accommodated device (3) from the shock. <IMAGE>
