[origin: EP0943269A2] A support frame for a sofa bed has a rectangular shape with one tilt axis (38) running between a main seating area and a raising back rest, to convert into a sofa. An additional feature is provided by a second tilt axis, orthogonal to the first tilt axis, and raising one end of the frame into a chaise-longue configuration. The cushions have rectangular sections which match the sections of the frame. The hinges are provided with ratchet locks to hold the cushions in different positions.
