[origin: EP0943361A2] The mask consists of a face protector (2) fixed to a support in the form of a one-piece shell (10) covering the whole head. It has a viewing section (5A) made from a solid transparent material, and one or more ventilation sections (6, 7), each covered by a curved perforated plate (6A, 7A) of a material, e.g. sheet metal, which is resistant to piercing and will not shatter. Each plate is let into a recess in the viewing section so it lies flush with its surface.
