Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9733742A1] An optical preform (10) composed of an optical article, such as a single vision lens, is provided with an adjacent layer of a partially hardened resin (20). The adjacent layer (20) can be conformed to a mold (30) and further hardened to modify the optical properties of the preform (10). In addition, the partially hardened resin layer (20) can be initially placed on the optical article (10) prior to positioning the optical article against the mold (30). Alternatively, the partially hardened resin layer (20) can be initially placed on the surface of the mold (30) prior to positioning the optical article (10) against the mold (30).
