Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9914410A2] The invention relates to a weaving machine whose backrest (3) and/or drop wire (17) is positioned on the machine frame (22) in such a way that it can be adjusted, and is adjusted by means of associated regulating means with at least one regulating function. According to the invention, at least the backrest (3) and/or the drop wire (17) is regulated automatically. To this end, at least one controllable, driven regulating device (39) is allocated to the regulating means, said regulating device (39) being connected to the weaving machine control mechanism. The existing actual position of the backrest (3) and/or the drop wire (17) is determined and at least the measured values which characterise the actual position are compared with the predetermined desired values. A regulating signal is generated from the comparison and conveyed to the regulating device. Said regulating device then automatically moves the backrest (3) and/or the drop wire (17) into the particular desired position.
