Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9826126A1] A method for continuous production of a strip of carpet (11), wherein a strip (1) of interconnected stationary threads (22) and weft inlay threads (21) is cut lengthwise into strips (16) so that the weft inlay threads (21) are held in an edge area of the strips (18) and remain free in another edge area. The strips (18) held in such a manner are to a great extent continuously conveyed onwards, and each single strip (18) is rotated at an angle of approximately 90<o> in the same direction. The strips (18) that have thus been juxtaposed and placed adjacent to each other are guided through a device for application of an adhesive, whereby the surface formed by the strips (18) adjacent to the edge area where the threads are held, is coated. The strips (18) are connected to each other by this coating (28) so that a continuous running carpet strip (11) is formed.
