Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0945201A1] The method produces a casting core for formation of a cavity for cooling medium flow within a casting during its operation. The core has surface regions with deliberately produced roughness. During casting this roughness is transferred to surfaces bounding the cooling cavity, with a resultant improvement in the heat transfer between the casting and the cooling medium.
