[origin: EP0945358A1] A synthetic cover or container made of net has an integral marking surface (22) formed by locally replacing the net structure with a flat surface (16) by hot stamping. The flat surface bears identification markings applied during forming of the surface or separately by printing or adhesives. An Independent claim is included for the process of forming the surface by changing the original thermoplastic net structure (14,15) to a continuous surface (16) by means of a hot punch (17) without adding additional material. The continuous surface is thinner than the thickness of the net strands (14,15).
