Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0945583A2] The hinge system consists of a top and bottom hinge each of which consists of a bottom part fixed in the masonry of the brickwork, and a top part fixed to the grille or shutter. One of the hinges (1,2) has a rotary device (11) enabling the top hinge part (4) to be turned from inside the building. Both hinges have a device securing them from being lifted out. The bottom hinge part (3) of the two hinges consists of a tubular housing (6) with radial wall anchor (7). The housing contains the cylindrical core (8) of the hinge top part. The outer periphery of the top hinge part or cylindrical core has a radially extending threaded bolt (9) fitting into a matching threaded hole in the grille, shutter or frame. The rotary device consists of a conical toothed rim (20) engaging with the conical pinion (21) at the front end of the shaft (22) penetrating the coaxial hole (17) of the wall anchor.
