Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9805422A1] A novel bimetallic catalyst was prepared from trialkyl silanol, dibutylmagnesium, alkoxy titanium chloride complex and a metallocene-alumoxane reaction product supported on silica. This catalyst can polymerize ethylene and higher olefins using triethylaluminum (TEA), diisobutylaluminum hydride (DIBAH), trimethylaluminum (TMA) and other aluminum alkyls as co-catalyst to give bimodal MWD resins suitable for premium HIC and/or HMW film applications.
