[origin: DE19650854C1] A multilayer plastic object is made in this novel process. A plastic injection moulding is coated with at least one layer of two-component duroplastic. The novel feature is injection of both the plastic part and the layer of two-component duroplastic in succession, in synchronous cycles in the same mould. Also claimed is equipment producing the multilayer moulding. This has a novel arrangement, providing the injection moulding machine (11) with a RIM (reaction injection moulding) unit (13) to which, preferably, it is interlinked. Preferably reaction time of the two-component duroplastic is matched to that required for the injection of the moulding. The layer applied over the plastic part is polyurethane. Two moulds (2, 3, 10, 12) are provided, disposed on the mould platens. There is an injection nozzle (14) in one die half. In a second is a mixing nozzle (15). These are parts of the RIM unit. A rotary base plate (1) forms one mould platen. A handling unit links the multicomponent cavities and the RIM unit. A pair (2, 3) of the mould dies are identical. On the injection and mixing nozzles (14, 15), the matrix (10, 12) depth differs. The matrices accommodate the moulding (17); and the thicker combination of moulding plus coating (19), by this means. The mould is metal and has a covered plane of separation.
