[origin: WO9823497A1] The invention concerns a transport unit consisting of several panels of insulating material (2, 6) stacked on support elements (4; 14, 15) made of a material suitable for insulation purposes, the support elements (4; 14, 15) and the panels of insulating material (2, 6) being connected and both enveloped by a single foil cover. So as to reduce the quantity of packaging material required for this type of transport unit without adversely affecting stability, the invention proposes that the insulating panels (2, 6) should be stacked in at least two adjoining piles (1, 3), and that adjacent piles (1, 3) should be arranged in such a way that they at least partly share one of the supporting elements (4; 14, 15).
