[origin: WO9826614A2] Disclosed is a base station for a radio telecommunications systems, specially for a mobile radio telephone network. Said base station comprises at least two receiver and transmitter devices and at least one antenna device for ensuring radio communication links with at least one remote station. A control device of the base station organizes monitoring of the receiver and transmitter devices in such a way that one of the transmitter and receiver devices is switched to energy-saving mode once it is not establishing a telecommunications connection.
