Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0947799A1] The tail of the towed target includes infrared flares (12). Each flare is situated in a launching unit and is pulled by the decoy during the duration of its flaring. After flaring, a cutter severs the towing line. An ignition charge ignites an infrared flare in the launching unit and after ignition, creates a gas pressure in the launching unit to drive out the flare, breaking a securing wire.
