[origin: EP0947895A1] The non circular lens (4) in the thickness of a watch glass, is made from a hard material by machining the glass in a slot (5) having a non circular circumference. The slot has lateral walls (6) and a curved bottom (7) designed to form the lens surface. The face (7) of the lens is polished by means of a brush agitated in a to-and-fro movement, so as to wipe the surface (7) with a polish.
