Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0949075A2] The inking unit (6) of the printing machine is selectively operated in a normal operating mode or a reduced-ink operating mode and may be driven by a separate electric motor (16). The ink duct roller (12) rotates with a different rotation characteristic in the reduced-ink operating mode. In the normal operating mode, the ink duct roller may rotate continuously, while in the reduced-ink operation mode, it may rotate discontinuously.
