Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0950626A1] The system has reels (3) mounted on individual support platforms, which are gripped by coupling grips (2) of a vertical hoist (21) supported from a traveler on a gantry. The gantry moves over the system in two horizontal directions and vertically and rotates about a vertical axis. The gantry transfers reels between the winding positions and the storage positions. The vertical hoist can also turn the support platforms about a vertical axis in steps of 90 degrees . An Independent claim is included for a method for using the device.
