[origin: WO9825677A1] A skateboard (10) with a longitudinal element (20) extending upwards and secured to the front side (15') of the board (15). The length of said longitudinal element is such that a person moving forward on this board can remain in an approximately upright position on said longitudinal element (20). The longitudinal element (20) is kept in a pivotable position by means of a joint (11) located above the board (15) and fastened in maximum pivoting position by a retaining device. A foot brake (30) is located in the rear part of the board (15) and operates in conjunction with the rear pair of rollers (17). The foot brake enables the board to be stopped at any given time, thereby providing enhanced skateboarding safety and easier rideability.
