[origin: EP0951994A1] The plate fixing device has a clamping rail composed of upper and lower parts with a gripping region for the plate between them. The first operating device (11) can open the closed clamping rail (3) and take it from the open position into a pre-closure position. There is also a second operating device, by which the clamping rail can be moved from the pre-closure position to a position in which it is closed on the plate with sufficient force to hold in place. The lower part (4) of the rail is moved radially relative to the lower part (5) by a shaft (6) with cams (7) on it.
