[origin: EP0952342A2] Improved pistons (22), which are reciprocated by a swash plate (20) of a compressor, have two separate parts joined together. Each piston (22) has a head (40) and a skirt (42). The head (40) has a cylinder (41) with an opening at one end. The opening is closed by a lid (43). The lid (43) is mechanically fixed to the cylinder (41), for example, by crimping. Also, adhesive is used to fix the lid (43) to the cylinder (41). Accordingly, the cylinder (41) and the lid (43) are firmly secured to each other. <IMAGE>
